Carer Support Group
Macedonian Carer Support Groups
To care, look after someone presents constant physical and emotional demand of your abilities. If you are looking after someone, regardless of them being frail aged or younger person with disabilities, who needs your assistance 24 hours a day, then you too need assistance and support so that you can continue to successfully fulfill your duties as a carer.
The Macedonian Carer Support groups offer emotional support, advice, information and referral to the carers of Macedonian background who are looking after their loved ones, frail aged and younger people with disabilities in the physical or mental form. All the information is treated with respect and confidentiality.
How can these groups assist you?
If you decide to attend one of these groups you will have the opportunity to meet with other carers from Macedonian background who just like you are caring for someone.
You will have the opportunity to exchange experience from your everyday caring while at the same time learn a few new skills from the other carers in the groups.
You will be offered an opportunity to get new information and materials as well as discuss some issues with professionals that work in various health fields that can be of benefit to you as a carer. The most important is that the groups offer much needed respite with people who understand exactly how you feel and what you are going through.
